Enact robust measures to combat modern slavery nationwide

Modern day slavery is an egregious violation of human rights that persists globally, including within the United States. From for-profit prisons that exploit incarcerated individuals through barely paid labor to human trafficking networks that enslave victims, these exploitative practices stand in stark contrast to American values of freedom and dignity. We must take concerted action to combat forced labor, human trafficking, and all forms of modern slavery wherever they exist. This grave injustice demands a robust, coordinated response from governments, civil society, and the private sector to protect the vulnerable, provide support for survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable. Only through steadfast commitment can we uphold the fundamental rights and liberties that define our nation.
