Save USPS

To: Sen. Wyden, Sen. Merkley, Rep. Bonamici

From: A constituent in Portland, OR

April 22

I am writing as your constituent to ask you do everything you possibly can to save the USPS from the predations of this administration. An independent post office operating as it always has been is to the immense benefit of the American people. The continuing attempts to change it up, such as by placing it under the purview of the Commerce Department, would only result in it being transformed into a pricey and ineffective private sector competitor to UPS and FedEx. I am so saddened to have to write to my elected officials begging them to save the institutions that make American life livable. But I am also encouraged when you step up and do this work that only you can do. Thank you.
