Defend Our Schools: Impeach Secretary of Education McMahon I am a voting constituent writing to compel you to immediately support Representative Suzanne Bonamici’s articles of impeachment and vote to remove U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon from office. Secretary McMahon’s actions represent an unacceptable and illegal overreach. By unilaterally transferring core duties of the Department of Education to other federal agencies without congressional approval, she has completely bypassed the legislative branch. This forced dismantling has thrown our educational infrastructure into chaos. Under her leadership, the department has failed to disburse critical funding on time, withheld essential mental health and TRIO grants from low-income and first-generation students, and crippled its own ability to investigate civil rights violations—resolving a decade-low 1% of cases last year. Furthermore, an internal inspector general report confirmed that massive, intentional staff layoffs have actively prevented the agency from fulfilling its legal duties. Secretary McMahon has violated the law, deliberately mismanaged public resources, and misled Congress under oath during her confirmation. Impeachment is a vital constitutional check on an official actively harming our nation's students, parents, and educators. You must fulfill your oath of office, uphold the rule of law, and vote to remove her.
