Confirm Biden's judicial nominees to safeguard fundamental rights
To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. Casey
From: A constituent in Lancaster, PA
November 19
The Senate must act quickly to confirm President Biden's remaining judicial nominees before the end of the year. A Democratic majority was elected to appoint fair-minded judges who will uphold the rule of law and protect fundamental rights. The Republican obstruction currently underway is a transparent attempt to undermine the will of the American people and our democratic process. A federal judiciary stacked with Trump's extreme ideologues poses a grave threat to civil liberties, voting rights, reproductive freedom, and other core values. Confirming Biden's well-qualified nominees is vital to restoring balance and ensuring equal justice under the law. This is an urgent priority with enormous consequences for generations to come. The Senate has a constitutional duty to provide advice and consent on judicial nominations. Forcing repeated overnight votes is an unacceptable abuse of process that demeans this institution and its members. I urge senators to work diligently around the clock if needed to confirm every remaining nominee by the end of the year. The American people demand no less in defense of our democracy.
