De-escalate the conflict in Iran

To: Rep. Keating, Sen. Markey, Sen. Warren

From: A constituent in East Falmouth, MA

May 5

I am writing as a concerned constituent to urge you to support every available effort to de-escalate the current conflict involving Iran and to prioritize diplomacy over further military escalation. Like many Americans, I am deeply concerned for the people of Iran, for civilians throughout the region, and for the broader stability of the international community. Continued escalation risks devastating humanitarian consequences, destabilizing global markets and alliances, and drawing the United States into a wider conflict with potentially long-lasting repercussions. Regardless of political affiliation, I believe most Americans share a desire for peace, restraint, and thoughtful leadership during moments of international crisis. I respectfully ask that you advocate for immediate de-escalation, renewed diplomatic engagement, and careful congressional oversight of any further military involvement. Our nation should lead with strength, but also with wisdom, restraint, and a commitment to preventing unnecessary loss of life. Thank you for your service and for your attention to this urgent matter.
