I am writing to express my strong opposition to the nomination of Kash Patel as Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The role of FBI Director requires an individual with unwavering integrity, a commitment to upholding the rule of law, and the ability to protect national security without political bias. Mr. Patel’s record and public behavior demonstrate he is profoundly unqualified for this position.
Mr. Patel has been a central figure in promoting conspiracy theories that undermine public trust in our institutions. His involvement in efforts to discredit the FBI and intelligence agencies—by pushing baseless claims of “deep state” corruption—has caused serious damage to the credibility of these essential organizations. Such rhetoric not only erodes confidence in our justice system but also emboldens those who seek to undermine it.
Furthermore, Mr. Patel’s history of partisan actions and willingness to prioritize political loyalty over national security raises grave concerns. As a key figure in efforts to downplay the severity of Russian interference in U.S. elections and to obstruct critical investigations, he has demonstrated a dangerous disregard for impartiality and the rule of law.
The FBI Director must be a trusted leader who can rise above partisanship to ensure the safety and security of all Americans. Mr. Patel’s record shows he is not that person. His nomination poses a direct threat to the integrity and effectiveness of the FBI and, by extension, to our national security.
I urge you to oppose this nomination and support a candidate who embodies the principles of justice, fairness, and national security. Our country deserves an FBI Director who can lead with honor and impartiality, not someone whose track record is defined by divisiveness and dangerous rhetoric.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter.
