A Call to Uphold & Defend Constitutional and Moral Integrity

To: Sen. Peters, Rep. Walberg, Sen. Slotkin

From: A constituent in Berrien Springs, MI

April 28

I am writing to you not only as a concerned citizen but also as someone deeply committed to the principles that form the bedrock of our nation. The recent introduction of seven articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump by Representative Shri Thanedar highlights actions that many believe undermine our Constitution and democratic values. These articles allege serious violations, including: Obstruction of justice and abuse of executive power. Usurpation of appropriations power. Abuse of trade powers and international aggression. Violation of First Amendment rights. Creation of an unlawful office. Bribery and corruption. Subversion of the justice system and violation of the separation of powers. These are not mere political disagreements; they represent actions that, if proven, pose a direct threat to the rule of law and the principles of checks and balances. I urge you to consider the gravity of these allegations. If a nationwide petition or vote were conducted, I believe a significant portion of Americans would support at least one of these articles. This is not about partisan politics; it's about preserving the integrity of our democratic institutions. As leaders, you have a responsibility to act courageously in defense of our Constitution. Failing to address these concerns may suggest complicity or a willingness to overlook actions that erode our democratic foundations. From a moral and ethical standpoint, many of us who hold Christian values find it troubling to witness behaviors that contradict the teachings of compassion, humility, and justice. The actions described in the articles reflect traits that are antithetical to the fruits of the Spirit and the teachings of Christ. We must strive for a nation where love, justice, and respect for all prevail. This includes upholding the rights and dignity of every individual, regardless of race, nationality, or creed. I implore you to take these matters seriously and act in a manner that reflects both constitutional duty and moral integrity. Our nation's future depends on leaders who are willing to stand up for what is right, even when it is difficult.
