Prioritize families over wealth redistribution to rich

To: Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley, Rep. Burlison

From: A constituent in Oronogo, MO

April 11

The proposed budget cuts to vital programs like Medicaid and child nutrition assistance to extend tax breaks overwhelmingly favoring the wealthy and corporations are unacceptable. Slashing critical support systems that millions of Americans rely on to funnel more money to billionaires and big businesses is misguided and harmful. We cannot balance the budget on the backs of vulnerable families while lining the pockets of the ultra-rich. Protecting access to healthcare, food assistance, and housing should be the priority, not further enriching those who already have an excessive share of resources. I urge you to reject these draconian cuts that will push more people into poverty and hardship solely to perpetuate an unjust system of upward wealth redistribution. The well-being of working families must come before the greed of the privileged few.
