I am writing as your constituent to formally request that you personally introduce articles of impeachment against Donald Trump and demand a full congressional investigation into his financial dealings, including potential money laundering, foreign financial influence, corruption, and abuse of the presidency for personal enrichment.
Recent reporting concerning World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency venture associated with Trump and his family, raises serious questions that Congress cannot ignore. A foreign entity reportedly invested approximately $100 million in World Liberty Financial tokens, while a Trump-affiliated company was entitled to receive approximately 75 percent of certain token-sale proceeds. Congress must determine where this money originated, who ultimately benefited, and whether this extraordinary foreign investment was connected to access, influence, favorable government treatment, or other benefits.
These concerns are even more alarming following Capital One’s disclosure that it closed more than 300 Trump-affiliated accounts in 2021 after months of analysis and review by its anti-money-laundering team. Capital One stated in federal court that the closures were made for anti-money-laundering reasons pursuant to bank policies and regulatory guidance.
While an anti-money-laundering review does not itself prove that money laundering occurred, it creates an extraordinarily serious issue when considered alongside the president’s current financial relationships with foreign entities.
I am therefore asking you not simply to support an investigation initiated by someone else. I am asking you, as my elected representative, to personally introduce articles of impeachment and use the investigative and subpoena powers of Congress to obtain the relevant banking records, cryptocurrency transactions, beneficial-ownership records, communications, and financial documents.
Congress must follow the money.
If the president has used his position to obtain improper foreign financial benefits, launder money, accept bribes, sell influence, or enrich himself through the powers entrusted to him by the American people, these actions warrant impeachment and removal from office.
The presidency does not place anyone above the law.
I am asking you to act.
