President Trump's planned military parade on June 14th is a wasteful and unnecessary display at a time when countless Americans are struggling financially due to the economic crisis. With costs expected to run into the millions, this excessive show of military might is an unwise use of taxpayer dollars that could be better allocated to support programs assisting those impacted by the economic downturn. Rather than an expensive spectacle meant to glorify the President, we should prioritize providing relief and resources to the people suffering from lost jobs, reduced wages, and other hardships brought on by the crashing economy. I urge you to reconsider this ill-timed parade and instead focus efforts on measures that will meaningfully aid our citizens during this difficult period.
