Please: Impeach Trump and Hegseth. Reclaim the war powers of Congress. Stop the illegal Iran war. No more of this illegal, dangerous and incompetent war. NOT in our name, not with our dollars. We should NOT be paying billions a week for this criminal catastrophe. Let me remind you that this war is unnecessary, illegal, is being conducted without congressional oversight, has been carried out with war crimes from the start, and Trump and Hegseth have shown themselves to be egregiously unfit-- morally unfit and incompetent. Status quo ante: We had a nuclear agreement with Iran. The straits of Hormuz were open. We now have neither. How stupid is it to have lost both? Trump and Hegseth have committed war crimes. Their deadly actions and offensive language have put a target on every American. Their words and actions are either intended to provoke retaliation or are monumentally stupid. The list of US war crimes gets longer by the day. Bombing a school. Hitting civilian infrastructure. Threatening genocide and destruction of essential civilian infrastructure. Do you support this rhetoric and agenda of reckless endangerment? You surely know that per UNCLOS: a unilateral blockade of an international strait violates the right of innocent passage under international law. You are also surely aware that even to threaten genocide is a criminal act according to US law and international convention. As you know, according to the War Powers Resolution, Congressional authorization is required for this military action. Yet there has been none. To their shame the GOP have refused to vote on that. If this list of grave problems is not enough, please consider the shocking lack of seriousness and competence that has characterised the prosecution of this costly illegal venture. We see addle-brained irascibility, drunken bravado, inflammatory rhetoric and total disregard for human life. All with zero strategic thinking. The same failure is scuppering negotiations. The US is sending TV hosts and real estate dealers to negotiate with career diplomats and PhDs. Trump, Hegseth, and Vance have shown that they are not fit or capable: Trump and Rubio were in Miami watching a UFC fight. Trump was not in the White House, he was not even in D.C. No, he was Watching a U.F.C. Fight in Miami while the Iran Talks Collapsed. Here's how the New York Times reported that: "On his way to Florida, President Trump said it did not matter to him if a deal with Iran was reached or not: 'We win, regardless,' he said.
