Maintain Access to COVID-19 Vaccines

To: Sen. Peters, Rep. Dingell, Sen. Slotkin

From: A constituent in Saline, MI

August 26, 2025

I am writing to express my deep concern over recent reports suggesting that the current administration may be considering the removal of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines from the U.S. market. As your constituent, I urge you to take immediate action to ensure continued access to these life-saving vaccines. The claims made by British cardiologist Aseem Malhotra about the potential removal of COVID-19 vaccines are alarming. While these reports have not been officially confirmed, the mere possibility of such action poses a significant threat to public health. The COVID-19 vaccines have been instrumental in reducing severe illness, hospitalizations, and deaths from the virus. It's crucial to note that Malhotra's statements and the actions of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., now heading the Department of Health and Human Services, have raised serious concerns among medical experts. The reported purging of the CDC's vaccine advisory panel and the cessation of vaccine recommendations for children and pregnant women are particularly troubling developments that could have far-reaching consequences for public health. The potential removal of these vaccines could cause widespread fear and chaos, as Malhotra himself acknowledged. Moreover, it could have severe legal ramifications and, more importantly, put countless lives at risk. The scientific consensus overwhelmingly supports the safety and efficacy of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, despite claims to the contrary by vaccine skeptics. I implore you to stand firm in support of evidence-based medicine and public health policies. Please use your position to: 1. Demand transparency from the administration regarding any plans related to COVID-19 vaccines. 2. Advocate for the continued availability of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. 3. Support the reinstatement of the CDC's vaccine advisory panel and evidence-based vaccine recommendations. The health and safety of your constituents depend on access to these vital vaccines. I urge you to act swiftly and decisively to protect our right to this critical medical intervention.
