I urge you to reject President-elect Trump's nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Kennedy has spread dangerous misinformation and conspiracy theories about vaccines for years, putting public health at risk. Appointing an anti-vaccine proponent to lead HHS would undermine trust in vital preventative measures and jeopardize efforts to combat chronic and infectious diseases. As the nation's top public health official, Kennedy would oversee agencies like the FDA, CDC, and NIH that rely on scientific evidence and data to protect Americans. However, his unsubstantiated claims about vaccine safety contradict established medical consensus. Giving him this authority could dismantle faith in these institutions and reverse progress made through evidence-based policymaking. Kennedy has also proposed alarming proposals like removing fluoride from public water supplies and replacing hundreds of scientists at the NIH. These extreme actions based on pseudoscience, not facts, threaten to severely compromise public health efforts. Preserving Americans' wellbeing must be the top priority for the Cabinet role overseeing healthcare. I implore you to appoint a qualified, ethical nominee committed to promoting scientifically-validated practices and trusted medical advice, not fringe theories that endanger lives. The public deserves leaders upholding rigorous standards to safeguard our nation's health and safety.
