An Open Letter

To: Sen. Cantwell, Sen. Murray, Rep. Schrier

From: A verified voter in Woodinville, WA

August 14

ICE is planning to spend up to $20 million on thousands of gloves capable of delivering painful electric shocks through a person’s skin to force compliance. These devices look like ordinary gloves until activated and create a terrifying opportunity for abuse with little public visibility. This is not humane immigration enforcement. This is government-inflicted pain, and Congress must stop it before these weapons are deployed. I demand that Congress block all federal funding for ICE electric-shock gloves, prohibit their use in immigration enforcement, and require full public disclosure and oversight of any contracts, testing, training, or deployment plans. Pain is not immigration policy. Congress must act now to stop ICE from turning electric shocks into another tool of state violence.
