Condemn Continued Israeli Military Strikes on Gaza

To: Sen. Duckworth, Sen. Durbin, Rep. García

From: A constituent in Chicago, IL

January 8

I am writing as a concerned constituent to express my alarm over reports that, despite ceasefire agreements, Israel continues to carry out deadly military strikes on Gaza. These actions have resulted in the loss of civilian lives, destruction of homes, and the displacement of countless families. As a key ally of Israel and a global advocate for human rights, the United States has both the responsibility and influence to promote accountability, restraint, and protection of civilians. Continued attacks undermine international law, escalate conflict, and prolong human suffering. I urge you to: Publicly condemn ongoing military strikes that harm civilians in Gaza. Call for strict adherence to ceasefire agreements and international humanitarian law. Support humanitarian aid and protection measures for affected civilians. Use U.S. diplomatic influence to prioritize negotiations, conflict de-escalation, and a sustainable peace process. The human cost of inaction is immense. The U.S. must stand for accountability, protection of innocent lives, and a genuine pursuit of peace in the region. I expect a public statement outlining your position and the steps you will take to address these ongoing attacks.
