Congress must block the NSF's plan to dismantle the Ocean Observatories Initiative before June decommissioning begins. A $370 million infrastructure with 900+ deep-sea instruments is about to be permanently destroyed despite Congress restoring its funding twice in response to 80% budget cuts. The NSF is defying explicit congressional intent. Project 2025's Mandate for Leadership named the OOI specifically and called for its "climate research to be disbanded." This is political ideology overriding science—and Congress has already rejected it twice. The window is closing. Please Act Now.
