I cannot believe Senate Democrats have thrown ACA health care subsidies under the bus, under your watch. I remember watching as Congress tried to dismantle the ACA under Trump’s first term, until John McCain swept in with his infamous “thumbs down” and, literally, saved the day. I remember the feeling of absolute dread and anxiety of that whole ordeal, because as a freelancer, I depended on the ACA and its subsidies to afford basic healthcare. Do you have any idea what that fear and anxiety feels like? I’m going to assume not. And that is the problem. This morning I read that 8 Senate Democrats have capitulated to the GOP who are holding my healthcare hostage. And at a moment when it seemed - too good to be true - that the Democrats had seized on the narrative that the GOP does not want what’s best for working people, as they fight tooth and nail to avoid paying for SNAP benefits and affordable healthcare. Today, one again, the Democrats - under your leadership - are a disappointment.
