Investigate allegations of voting machine tampering in 2024 election

To: Rep. Pingree, Sen. Collins, Sen. King

From: A constituent in Damariscotta, ME

June 12

There are credible allegations that voting machines were illegally tampered with prior to the 2024 U.S. presidential election, potentially altering the outcome. A private lab called Pro V&V implemented undisclosed changes to machines used in over 40% of counties without proper testing or oversight. This allowed significant modifications like new ballot scanners, firmware upgrades, and reporting systems to bypass scrutiny. Watchdog groups like SMART Elections have flagged statistical anomalies, missing votes, and other irregularities pointing to potential vote tampering. In some precincts, candidates received far fewer votes than the number of people testifying they voted for them. The implication is that Kamala Harris may have actually won the presidency before the results were manipulated. There appears to be a lack of transparency and accountability around Pro V&V's accreditation and the Election Assistance Commission's ability to investigate. A lawsuit is moving forward to examine this apparent exploitation of our electoral system by an unregulated private entity. Thorough investigations into Pro V&V, the nature of their changes, and the extent of any tampering must be undertaken to restore faith in our elections and ensure future races remain free and fair. Our very democracy is at stake.
