Several years ago, I served with AmeriCorps. I spent several months working with the National Wildlife Refuge System, then served an AmeriCorps VISTA term in Ohio. Not only was it a valuable experience for me, it also enabled me to provide valuable service to my community. Not to mention, it laid the foundation for my current career in environmental education. There is certainly waste in the government, but AmeriCorps is not waste. Please work to restore AmeroCorps and support national service to enrich our communities
