Please grant clemency for Marcellus Williams - substantial innocence doubts

To: Sen. Butler, Rep. Lee, Pres. Biden, Sen. Padilla

From: A constituent in Berkeley, CA

September 22

Given the new information about extensive prosecutorial misconduct and lack of evidence tying Mr. Williams to the crime, the President should urge Governor Parson to stop the planned execution on September 24 and commute Mr. Williams' sentence. Killing a potentially innocent man would profoundly undermine principles of justice and human rights. With the victim's family, prosecutor, and defense team all agreeing life imprisonment is appropriate, allowing this flawed execution to proceed serves no legitimate purpose. The President must press for clemency to give the courts time to fully reinvestigate this troubling case and correct any grievous errors before an irreversible injustice occurs.
