An Open Letter

To: Rep. Min, Sen. Padilla, Sen. Schiff

From: A constituent in Irvine, CA

April 11

The escalating trade war between the United States and China is deeply concerning, with both sides continuously hiking tariffs on each other's goods. This tit-for-tat approach risks causing significant economic harm to businesses and consumers in both countries. I urge you to take immediate action to de-escalate this situation and find a negotiated resolution. Unchecked, these tariffs could lead to job losses, higher costs for consumers, disrupted supply chains, and a potential recession. It is imperative that cooler heads prevail in order to protect the economic well-being of our nation and its trade relationships around the world. I implore you to work towards lifting these tariffs and reestablishing free and fair trade through diplomatic channels. The livelihoods of many hard-working Americans hang in the balance.
