I am calling to demand that you vote no to pass H.Con.Res 14 the congressional budget. This budget seeks to cut $880 billion from the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which funds Medicaid. It also seeks to cut $230 billion from the House Agriculture Committee through 2034. Both of these cuts will destroy Medicaid and food stamps and put that money into the pockets of the wealthiest Americans. Over 77 million Americans are enrolled in Medicaid including 28.16% of Pennsylvanians. Over 37 million Americans are enrolled in food stamps and chip. Cutting either of these programs would be disastrous to the health of our nation. The elderly, disabled, children, and mothers would be disproportionately affected, as would low income, individuals and families. Make no mistake, this is not an effort to reform said programs, but to harm anyone who is not wealthy. I expect you to vote no on this budget. Thank you.
