You have the power to stop this. BREAKING: Trump demands that his felony conviction be overturned — and now the Justice Department is working overtime to do his bidding. In a move that would make even the most corrupt dictators blush, Donald Trump’s Department of Justice has done something truly extraordinary — and not in a good way. The DOJ has filed a legal brief asking a New York appeals court to overturn Trump’s felony conviction in the Manhattan hush-money case. That’s right: the sitting president’s own Justice Department is now acting as his personal defense team. Let that sink in. The federal government — which is supposed to serve the people — is now working overtime to help Donald Trump, the only U.S. president ever convicted of a felony, erase his crimes from the record. According to Bloomberg, DOJ lawyers argued that Trump’s conviction last year should be tossed out because the trial allegedly included evidence of “official acts.” Their claim? That the Supreme Court’s 2024 ruling on presidential immunity means Trump can’t be prosecuted for anything he did while in office — no matter how corrupt, deceitful, or self-serving. This is the same Supreme Court that handed Trump a get-out-of-jail-free card by declaring presidents are immune for “official acts.” And now, Trump’s DOJ is taking that outrageous decision and using it as a crowbar to pry open the cell door he belongs behind. Never mind that Trump’s crime had nothing to do with governing. The hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels weren’t “official acts” — they were acts of desperation by a man terrified that voters would learn the truth about his sleazy behavior before the 2016 election. Prosecutors made it crystal clear at trial: this was election interference, not presidential duty. Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts for falsifying business records to cover it all up. He was proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. But now, the Justice Department under his control is saying, “Never mind — the king can do no wrong.” This isn’t just a legal filing. It’s a blatant abuse of power. The same Justice Department once tasked with holding Trump accountable is now being weaponized to protect him from the consequences of his own crimes. Let’s call this what it is: a coup against the rule of law. Trump has turned the Department of Justice — the institution meant to safeguard democracy — into his own legal shield, twisting the Constitution into a personal pardon. His cronies are betting that if they rewrite the rules fast enough, they can make his criminal record disappear before the next election. But Americans aren’t fooled. We watched Trump commit the crime. We watched him lie about it. We watched a jury convict him. And now, we’re watching him corrupt the government again to make it all vanish. Trump’s DOJ isn’t serving justice — it’s serving Trump. This is what authoritarianism looks like in real time: when the law bends for one man, and accountability dies so his ego can live. Please like and share this if you believe NO president — not even one named Donald Trump — should be above the law.
