I am writing today to encourage you to kill the reconciliation bill that the House recently sent to the Senate. We should all be able to agree that this bill is a disaster. Even House Republicans who voted for the bill and are aligned with Trump’s desire to dismantle our constitution and institutions like Marjorie Taylor Greene are starting to express buyers’ remorse over voting in favor of it. While that is good in theory, what it means is that Republican behavior, across the board, currently demonstrates a desire to placate the president rather than actually read legislation they vote for or think critically about what is in the best interest of average Americans. The good news is there is still time to stop this bill from enriching the top 1% and devastating actual hard-working Americans. Please be on the right side of history with this, as history will not forget your vote.
