From eyewitness accounts, this feels like lawless state violence: militarised agents using deadly force and then being shielded from accountability. We've seen similar patterns in other countries sliding into authoritarianism, where "security' and 'emergencies' are used to justify fear and strip away rights. It's terrifying to watch the U.S. move in that direction while GOP leaders defend, condone, and double down on these actions instead of demanding accountability.
