I am writing to you outraged and deeply disturbed by the recent report from Oklahoma City, where a family of U.S. citizens—an innocent mother and her three daughters—were violently raided in their home by armed federal immigration agents in the middle of the night. This raid was not only a gross miscarriage of justice but a flagrant violation of their civil rights. The agents were acting on a warrant for individuals who no longer lived at the address. The innocent family, completely uninvolved in any criminal activity, were terrorized, humiliated, and robbed of their property by the very government that is supposed to protect them.
This family, who had just moved into their new home in search of peace and opportunity, was met instead with force, degradation, and trauma. They were forcibly removed from their home, in the rain, barely clothed. A minor was exposed in her undergarments in front of grown men. Their phones, laptops, and even cash savings were confiscated—leaving them without means to communicate, to travel, or even to feed themselves.
This is a disgraceful abuse of power, and it raises urgent questions: How can we allow federal agents to storm the homes of American citizens with such carelessness? Why is there no immediate restitution or accountability when the government makes such a grave mistake? Why were safeguards not in place to verify who currently lived at the address before executing such an invasive and militarized operation?
I demand that you take immediate action to:
• Investigate this incident publicly and transparently.
• Hold the responsible agencies and individuals accountable.
• Enact legislative safeguards to prevent the execution of search warrants at outdated addresses.
• Ensure victims of wrongful federal raids are entitled to immediate restitution, legal assistance, and trauma support.
This is not a partisan issue. This is about justice, human dignity, and the basic rights of American citizens. If our government can do this to a law-abiding family, it can happen to any of us. We cannot stand idly by while fear and incompetence replace due process and common decency.
