Investigate tragic Rafah strike, protect civilian lives

To: Sen. Menendez, Sen. Booker, Rep. Norcross

From: A constituent in Clementon, NJ

June 3

The wanton disregard for innocent human life displayed in the recent Israeli strike on Rafah, which killed dozens of Palestinian civilians, is utterly deplorable. The evidence indicating the use of a U.S.-made GBU-39 small diameter bomb compounds this tragedy and raises grave concerns about the reckless dispersal of American weaponry. It is unconscionable that precision munitions, purportedly designed for surgical strikes against terrorists, could be employed in such a manner as to inflict catastrophic harm on a densely populated civilian area. This incident lays bare the utter failure to uphold even the most basic tenets of international humanitarian law and the sanctity of human life.
