I am writing to urge you to take immediate action against the dangerous policies and moral failures of the Trump administration that are harming Americans and undermining our nation's standing in the world.
The evidence of this administration's failures is overwhelming and impossible to ignore. Consumer confidence has plummeted to 60-year lows while inflation remains stubbornly high. The Federal Reserve has halted interest rate cuts, and for the first time in our history, the United States has lost its highest credit rating. These are not abstract economic indicators but real consequences affecting your constituents' daily lives.
Beyond economic damage, the administration's actions reveal a profound moral crisis. The Epstein coverup scandal remains unaddressed. USAID cuts threaten to cause millions of deaths globally. The mass deportation agenda is tearing apart communities and devastating industries. Home builders and construction executives have warned Congress that immigration enforcement is scaring away workers and making housing more expensive. The CEO of the South Texas Builders Association told lawmakers that continued deportation policies mean "South Texas will never be red again."
Even traditionally supportive outlets like Axios and Politico are documenting the administration's weakening hold on Washington and cataloging policy reversals on everything from Minneapolis law enforcement to tariff threats. Trump's approval rating has dropped 31 points in 13 months, now sitting at negative 19 according to FiftyPlusOne polling.
I urge you to stand against this administration's assault on our values and institutions. Specifically, I ask that you support Ukraine against Russian aggression, roll back destructive tariffs, defend the rule of law by reining in ICE and ending mass deportation, and protect our research ecosystem and public health infrastructure from further damage.
Your constituents are watching. The tide has turned, and history will judge those who remained silent during this moral crisis.
