I’m writing as your constituent to respectfully urge you to support robust, reliable federal funding for election infrastructure and administration in the Fiscal Year 2026 budget.
Specifically, I ask that you allocate $825 million in Help America Vote Act (HAVA) Election Security Grants, with at least two-thirds of those funds directed to the local election officials who conduct our elections and interact most directly with voters.
Our election systems, and the hardworking people who administer them, face mounting challenges, including:
1. Increasing cyber threats and influence campaigns driven by generative AI;
2. Widespread disinformation aimed at confusing voters and undermining trust;
3. New state laws imposing additional burdens on election administrators;
4. The erosion of federal support, including recent cuts to election security programs within DHS and DOJ.
Election integrity and voter confidence are not partisan issues. They are fundamental to the health of our democracy. Please stand with the election officials who work tirelessly to uphold public trust in our democratic process.
Thank you for your time and support in protecting EVERYONE’S right to vote.
