I am writing to urge you to introduce and support immediate legislation that stops private technology corporations from acting like self-governing mini-states and deploying predictive intelligence operations against the public.
When private tech giants build internal "global safety and intelligence" operations to track, profile, and predict the actions of political activists, they violate our core civil rights. Because they are private entities, these corporations act as judge and jury over civilian speech without any of the constitutional checks, balances, or due process protections that limit the state. By categorizing legal dissent alongside terrorism, utilizing "pre-crime" tracking, and restricting the flow of information to their own closed networks, they are actively suppressing the public's right to assemble, organize, and speak freely.
We urgently need a clear statutory framework that:
• Reasserts civil rights protections against corporate overreach, strictly prohibiting private companies from tracking or profiling individuals for exercising their constitutional rights.
• Bans the use of automated OSINT software and predictive AI models by corporations targeting legal civilian activism.
• Imposes mandatory transparency and due process requirements, forcing corporations to fully disclose data custody and dossiers to any individual they flag or report to law enforcement.
Allowing private entities to wield state-like surveillance powers without state-like accountability is a severe threat to a free society. Please take immediate legislative action to protect our civil liberties.
