Fix, amend or oppose performative laws that fail sex workers and victims!
To: Sen. Warnock, Sen. Ossoff
From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

Mamdani made history by running on a sex worker friendly platform, in addition to other sidelined positions that were and still are maligned by special interests in both parties. His victory should be a message to Democrats and Republicans: marginalized communities vote also . FOSTA and SESTA have made sex workers and adult artists much less safe and secure, putting them at the mercy of abusive, exploitative parties in law enforcement. As the grooming and hacking incidents happening worldwide have shown, proponents of flawed obscenity laws, insecure invasive age verification measures, and laws like Texas's SB20 that penalize all forms of expression while doing nothing to stop AI-produced CSAM and deepfakes involving real people have time and time again ignored the reality of the impacts of these laws on marginalized communities and civil rights activists. Kids are still under threat on kid friendly sites and platforms. Minors are still being trafficked and abused by family members and religious organizations. The Internet is less secure and big tech continues to gather data from minors to sell and exploit without permission. Please oppose KOSA, STOP CSAM, and age verification laws. Make big tech wipe the data of minors and victims of trafficking and abuse. And fix the PROTECT Act of 2003. Narrow the definition to harms committed against recognized victims.
