I'm writing to thank you for holding the line against Trump's disastrously bad continuing resolution. With that being said, I note with concern that some Democrats are planning on agreeing to work with Republicans to pass the CR first before negotiation. This is NOT a good idea, as Republicans are sure to renege in any and all proposals and agreements made with Democrats, which would result in funded nationalism with no rights, no healthcare, no protections from undue arrests and a full on repeal of rights for minorities. No one is arguing for anyone to suffer, but Aesop famously said it is better to starve free than be a fat slave. I'm willing to go through a lot of pain to regain and restore all freedoms to every person in the country. I will even suffer for new freedoms also. What the Republican party is proposing will create far worse outcomes than if the shutdown continued. Please hold the line and tell other Democrats not to negotiate on such a shaky deal.
