Dear Senator,
I am writing to urge you to vote in favor of the legislation led by Bernie Sanders that would block the transfer of approximately $150 million in 1,000-pound bombs and $300 million in bulldozers currently proposed for delivery to Israel under the administration of Donald Trump. This legislation represents an important opportunity for Congress to exercise its oversight responsibilities regarding U.S. foreign policy and arms transfers. Decisions of this magnitude carry profound humanitarian, strategic, and moral implications. Many constituents, including myself, are concerned about the potential use of such equipment in ways that could contribute to civilian harm and escalate tensions in an already volatile region.
Supporting this measure reflects a commitment to ensuring that U.S. assistance aligns with international humanitarian standards, accountability, and long-term regional stability. Responsible governance requires careful consideration of how U.S.-provided resources are used and the broader consequences they may produce.
I respectfully ask you to stand for transparency, accountability, and the protection of civilian lives by voting in favor of this legislation.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I appreciate your service and your attention to this critical issue.
