Oppose KOSA and STOP CSAM!

To: Sen. Warnock, Sen. Ossoff

From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

October 26, 2025

Imposing duty of care onto websites only results in over-moderation, more faulty takedowns, and in the long run, does not protect kids from exploitation or abuse. Because duty of care was imposed on sites in the UK, personal information was leaked and stolen, personal photos were scraped and used to make CSAM and 'revenge porn', and it was ROBLOX's duty of care standard that allowed for grooming of minors and exploitation of them, not a lack thereof. Predators flock to child-friendly and sanitized spaces because they consider them to be their 'hunting grounds'. Censorship is a gift to these predators, because it allows them to chase away the creators of adult material to invite teens and kids in, making it easier for them to be victimized. Empowering parents to practice Internet safety with their kids would be better for society as a whole. KOSA and STOP CSAM would hurt my friends and family by giving sexual predators more 'range' to target victims, hackers and leakers more ways to steal info, and oppressive governments more reasons to spy on and arrest dissidents. Please oppose them.
