I am writing to urge you to uphold the responsibilities granted to Congress by the Constitution—specifically, the power of the purse—and to take meaningful steps to restore the balance of power between the legislative and executive branches.
Over the past several years, we have witnessed a disturbing trend of executive overreach, often enabled by congressional inaction or political convenience. This erosion of legislative authority threatens the foundation of our representative democracy. Congress must reassert its constitutional role—not only in appropriations, but in oversight, accountability, and the checks and balances that define our system of government.
I also call on you to serve with integrity, honesty, and independence. Your duty is to your constituents, not to any president—regardless of party. Partisan loyalty must never come before country or constitutional responsibility. I urge you to act in the best interest of the people you represent, even when doing so is politically inconvenient.
This moment requires courage. It requires elected officials who will stand for principle over politics and service over self-interest. Please be one of those leaders.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to seeing how you will respond to this critical call for action and accountability.
