I am a mail in voter, mostly because I am a teacher and I have a child with autism. I have completed mail in ballots before, but in this primary I received an email from the PA elections division that the date on my ballot was incorrect and may not be counted. It further stated that my county offers a chance to fix my mail in ballot and provides a link for more information. The link directs me to the general PA elections information page to check the status of my ballot. There is no information on how to fix the date on my ballot. I even checked the Allegheny County Elections site and there is no information there are well.
This is extremely confusing and should be fixed. First, the ballot us postmarked which should count as a legal date.
Second, the web link provides no information on how to cure my ballot, and it should.
Third, if the answer to incorrectly dated mail in ballots is for the person to vote with a provisional ballot at their polling place, then clearly state that. The FAQ states that I would have to surrender my mail in ballot at the polling place, but I can't because it has already been received by my county. My vote should count. I should be able to cure my ballot and there should be clear instructions on how to do it. I should be able to go to the elections office on a Saturday, as I cannot take the day off from work on election day, because it is during our mandatory state testing window Please make voting easier, not harder
