I’m writing to urge you to stop the relentless attacks on the Affordable Care Act and start working on real solutions to our healthcare crisis. For 15 years, the ACA has protected Americans with preexisting conditions, eliminated lifetime coverage caps, and provided free preventive care including cancer screenings, STI tests, and birth control. During that same 15 years, Republicans have voted more than 70 times to repeal or weaken these protections without offering a single viable alternative. Millions of Americans depend on these safeguards. Tearing them down without a replacement isn’t policy. It’s abandonment. Our healthcare system needs fixing, but dismantling what works without offering something better is reckless. I’m calling on you to propose concrete legislation that improves access, lowers costs, and strengthens coverage instead of trying to strip away protections families rely on. If you believe the ACA has flaws, then draft a bill to address them while keeping preexisting condition coverage, preventive care, and coverage limits in place. Americans deserve representatives who solve problems, not create them.
