Speak up about protecting our citizens, including honorably discharged veterans, who are carrying humanitarian aid on the flotilla to Gaza. All conventions state that harm brought against humanitarian aid workers is a war crime against humanity. Our citizens in the flotilla deserve the protections of the U.S. State Department, the Red Cross, and all humanitarian conventions. Any neglect would be a failing of your duties as a representative of the nation. If Israel is allowed to harm with impunity our citizens who are doing a humanitarian mission, then we will have ceded our role as a world leader of freedom and prosperity and entered into shame as a nation that aids and abets a genocide. Protect the flotilla and allow aid to flow to the people of Gaza! This should not be an issue across any party lines. Even in the worst of our wars, we allowed the free passage of humanitarian aid to flow freely to those who were starving. Republicans and Democrats should unite to urge Israel to let the flotilla inside Gaza unharmed and unhindered.
