Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley said this on Bluesky: "And our Democratic majority must meet the moment. Now is not the time for incrementalism or moderating our aspirations. We have to use our power and be ready on day one to do the work of repair and reconstruction.” Note the final word she used, reconstruction. America botched reconstruction in a major way once before and it’s the biggest thing that led to the rise of MAGA fascism. Now is not the time to be nice, now is the time to serve the people who demanded full-scale change. We demand universal healthcare, we demand the abolition of ICE, we demand prison reform, we demand gun control, we demand trans rights, we demand the expansion of the Supreme Court, we demand D.C. become a state, we demand Starlink and SpaceX be nationalized and folded into NASA, we demand a commitment to equal rights for ALL, we demand punishment on a massive scale for those in the White House and beyond who sought this fascist takeover. Those are the bare minimum things we demand.
