VOTE NO on HB267

To: Gov. Abbott, Sen. Paxton, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Rep. Shaheen

From: A constituent in Prosper, TX

May 4

As your constituent, I’m urging you to vote NO on HB 267. This bill strips away critical affirmative defenses for educators, medical professionals, mental health experts, and others working to help and protect children. By removing the broader defense for legitimate educational, medical, psychological, and legislative purposes, HB 267 opens the door to criminalizing professionals who serve children in good faith. While the bill protects law enforcement and judges, it leaves teachers, counselors, and doctors vulnerable. These are the very people who should be able to speak honestly and appropriately about sensitive topics to keep children safe, informed, and healthy. This is a dangerous and unnecessary overreach that will have a chilling effect on professionals doing essential work with kids. Protect those who protect children. Vote NO on HB 267.
