The Senate saw fit to approve a recissions bill that will defund PBS, NPR, USAID, and other global peacekeeping efforts. Having seen Rep. Thompson’s voting record, I expect that when this bill returns to the House, he will vote for it. Again. I want to appeal to your conscience to go against the party line and vote no on this bill. My kids grew up with PBS programming, which inspired them to be curious, to read, to get to know music, to treat people with kindness and respect, and to be good citizens. NPR has been a source of unbiased information for me and my family for years. Their investigative journalists do an unparalleled service to American society. NPR is also essential to bringing together the rural community that I live in. Please vote no and show your support for rural communities, for culture, for knowledge, for learning.
