I’m writing as your constituent on behalf of the Money Out of Politics Movement to demand that you cosponsor H.R. 2352, the Abolish Super PACs Act. The American people are fed up. We’ve called, written, marched, and voted. Still, Congress refuses to address the unchecked flood of Super PAC money poisoning our elections. For over a decade, Super PACs have been used as legal loopholes that allow billionaires and corporate interests to pump unlimited money into elections while hiding behind deceptive names and shadow donors. You know the truth: Super PACs buy influence, distort public will, and drown out real people. That’s plutocracy, not democracy. The Abolish Super PACs Act offers a direct, enforceable solution: - It caps Super PAC donations at $5,000 per person, per year, ending the era of unlimited political spending by the ultra-wealthy; - It closes coordination loopholes that allow candidates and PACs to function as a single operation; - It restores integrity by making our elections about ideas and people—not money and influence. Polls show overwhelming bipartisan support for reform. A New York Times/CBS News poll found that 78% of Americans across party lines want to limit Super PAC spending. And nearly three-quarters believe doing so would reduce political corruption. Yet Congress continues to protect the system that keeps it in power. We are done waiting. I urge you to: - Cosponsor H.R. 2352; - Speak publicly about the urgent need to abolish Super PACs; - Demand hearings and a floor vote. No more stalling. Millions of us are organizing to take this fight beyond polite requests. We are ready to flood the streets, disrupt business as usual, and sustain a general strike if needed. We will take this demand to the press, to the halls of power, and to the ballot box. If you choose to ignore this call, know that we are also organizing to replace every lawmaker who stands in the way with one who will get it done. This is your moment to lead, or to be remembered as someone who defended a system that sold out your constituents and our democracy for your personal enrichment. The time to act is now.
