Horrifying conditions inflicted on our military -- Congress must act!

To: Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Bergman, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Traverse City, MI

August 14

The alarming conditions inflicted on our service members are more widespread (and horrifying) than previously known. As reported by Meidas Touch: On the USS Abraham Lincoln: The parent of a sailor "described the water system failing early in the deployment, sailors unable to shower or wash clothes, and by the time their son left the ship, toilets backed up with roughly half a foot of human waste across the restroom floors used by hundreds of sailors." On the USS George H.W. Bush: The ship has been at sea 136 days with virtually no food, water, or soap, and morale as low as it gets. The response of the Secretary of Defense and the President of the United States: They claim it's all lies. Hegseth: "insisted a wave of reports describing deteriorating conditions and mental health struggles onboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln “completely misrepresented” the situation." (The Guardian) Trump: Reporter: Family members of service members are concerned about conditions on the Lincoln. Trump: No they’re not. Reporter: Has the deployment gone on too long? Trump: No. Not nearly long enough.
