Oppose confirmation of Gabbard, Kennedy, Makary and McMahon.
To: Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin
From: A constituent in Marquette, MI
February 5
As a mom of 3, I am writing to express my opposition to the appointment of the following people to cabinet positions due to lack of qualifications, and because they do not support civil liberties, reproductive rights, or ethical governance:
1. Tulsi Gabbard (Director of National Intelligence) – Gabbard’s past sympathies toward authoritarian regimes and controversial foreign policy positions raise serious concerns about her ability to lead the nation’s intelligence community with impartiality and trustworthiness.
2. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (Secretary of Health and Human Services) – Kennedy’s promotion of vaccine misinformation and conspiracy theories makes him unfit to oversee the country’s public health system and medical policy.
3. Dr. Marty Makary (FDA Commissioner) – Makary has downplayed the severity of public health crises and expressed skepticism toward established medical regulations, making him an unsuitable choice to lead the agency responsible for drug and food safety.
4. Linda McMahon (Secretary of Education) – McMahon’s lack of experience in education policy and background in corporate leadership, rather than academia or public schooling, raise concerns about her ability to advocate for students and teachers effectively.
Thanks for your time!
