Block the DOJ's campaign to seize private medical records of transgender minors. The Department of Justice has sent at least 20 subpoenas to healthcare providers demanding patient names, Social Security numbers, addresses, and full medical histories for every minor prescribed puberty blockers or hormone therapy. This isn't a fraud investigation — it's the federal government building a registry of trans children.
The DOJ's own justification falls apart on inspection. Every stated goal — detecting billing fraud, reviewing informed consent, identifying adverse outcomes — can be accomplished with anonymized data. Tennessee's own data collection law does exactly that, collecting clinical information without names, SSNs, or addresses. The DOJ collects all identifying information anyway and has never committed to deleting what it doesn't use. NYU Langone has now received a grand jury subpoena, meaning the federal government is pursuing criminal charges against doctors for providing legal medical care.
This is a government list of trans minors. Names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and parents' information for every child who sought gender-affirming care over the past six years. History is unambiguous about what governments do with lists like this. Speak out publicly against these subpoenas, support legal efforts to quash them, and push for congressional oversight of this DOJ overreach now.
