Government Shutdown Won’t Stop Trump

To: Rep. Casar

From: A verified voter in Kyle, TX

September 27, 2025

I supported the March government shutdown strategy, but I don’t believe it would work now. NPR’s Ron Elving summed it up for me today on the Weekend edition. I’m trying to include a link to a segment at the end of this 4-minute clip: Week in Politics: Comey's indictment; Trump at the U.N.; potential government shutdown. https://one.npr.org/i/nx-s1-5552531:nx-s1-9469617 I urge you to work towards a unified voice and explanation of procedures and realities more than a performative effort that will hurt beleaguered federal employees and the people who rely on their services. Particularly with Trump’s threat to continue to disband and fire staff at will while blaming a Democratic Shutdown.
