We find it extremely concerning that members of Congress are being denied access to federal government agencies. This appears to be an unconstitutional overreach that undermines the system of checks and balances enshrined in our democracy. Congress has an obligation to provide oversight and ensure the executive branch is acting within the bounds of the law. Barring duly elected representatives from entering these buildings obstructs their ability to fulfill their constitutional duties. This obstruction appears to be part of a broader effort to consolidate power and circumvent accountability. We urge the administration to immediately allow members of Congress full access to these agencies and their records. Continued defiance would represent a grave violation of foundational democratic principles. Transparency and open government must be upheld for our institutions to properly function. We implore leadership to reverse course on these concerning actions that threaten the integrity of our democratic system.
