To: Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters, Rep. Moolenaar

From: A constituent in Rockford, MI

Restore SNAP Funding in the Farm Bill As your constituent, I urge you to oppose cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in the current Farm Bill and work to fully restore its funding. SNAP is a vital lifeline for families across our nation, and nearly 40% of all participants are children. Many of the areas facing the highest rates of child food insecurity are rural communities that rely heavily on this support. Vulnerable families are already reeling from recent federal restrictions, and further cuts will only exacerbate hunger at a time when food prices continue to skyrocket. Weakening SNAP also inflicts severe economic harm on our agriculture industry and threatens local jobs, jeopardizing more than 27,000 SNAP-authorized rural retailers nationwide who rely on these vital consumer dollars. A strong Farm Bill must protect our most vulnerable communities and support small businesses. Stand up for families & communities by protecting and restoring SNAP funding.
