FDA Must Not Be Led by a Vaccine Skeptic Like Prasad: RFK must Go

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Casar, Sen. Cruz

From: A verified voter in Austin, TX

May 7

I am writing to express urgent concern over the appointment of Dr. Vinay Prasad to lead the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research. His track record of questioning vaccine safety standards and openly mocking the FDA’s approval process is dangerous. Replacing Dr. Peter Marks—a respected leader forced out after clashing with RFK Jr.—puts politics ahead of science (Washington Post, May 2025). Dr. Prasad has suggested Americans may be better off without the FDA as it stands. That kind of rhetoric undermines public trust and threatens the safety of millions. Vaccines are a critical defense against disease, and weakening oversight risks real harm. RFK Jr.’s leadership at HHS has already fueled the spread of misinformation, contributing to measles outbreaks and vaccine hesitancy. He is unfit to lead. These appointments are not just controversial—they are a threat to public health. I urge you to take immediate action to restore credible, science-based leadership at the FDA and HHS. The health of the American people depends on it.
