An unelected billionaire should not hold such sway over legislative proceedings that determine the functioning of our government and impact millions of Americans. While maintaining an open government is crucial, yielding to the demands of wealthy individuals would undermine democratic principles. We urge you to uphold your duty to the people you represent, not private interests. Negotiate in good faith to reach a reasonable compromise that protects essential services and programs for ordinary citizens without catering to the whims of the ultra-rich. The integrity of our institutions must be safeguarded against corruption and undue influence from any individual, regardless of their wealth or celebrity status.
